Book Reviews – What Should We Do Today, Mommy?

What Should We Do Today, Mommy? is a wonderfully appealing book for young children, their parents, and even teachers. It will engage readers with immediacy, for who has not heard the words, “What should we do today?” spoken in some form by an eager child. The author takes an obvious delight in looking at the daily life of a mother and daughter as they explore their home, neighborhood, and community looking for things to do. Through the enthusiasm of the child, these simple adventures become a delight to both. The illustrations that bring this daily quest to life will also charm with their whimsical portraits of an energetic little girl and mother enjoying their day together.

I find this book especially refreshing at a time when adults and children are often so over-scheduled that they can barely do the simple things that feed their minds and hearts. The book shows the deep and enduring value of a parent and child creating, imagining, and playing with one another in all their favorite places. There is warmth, love, and affection pervasive on each page, reminding us of the joy of accompanying a young child who looks out at the world each day with fresh eyes.

Our children take us into places in our heart we didn’t know existed, which loosens the grip of our ego, expands our sense of self, allowing us to access our ability to love unconditionally, live fully in the present moment and enter the experience of consciousness.

What Should We Do Today, Mommy? reminds us of what a gift it is to have our children in our lives so that we can journey together!

“What Should We Do Today, Mommy? is a sweet story that reminds everyone (not just mommies) to see the beauty in the simple, everyday things, and to capture the teachable moments. Children will connect personally and emotionally with this story, and want it read to them over and over.

Ms. Foote also came to my Kindergarten classroom to share her experiences and process about becoming an author. She was informative, kind, and spoke to each child on their level. It was a wonderful presentation.”

Book Reviews – Love You to Pieces

This is an excellent book for young children. The simplicity of everyday activities has great appeal for our little ones. I read to my 3 year old granddaughter and she could relate to something on every page! Michele writes with so much love. Thank you for sharing your experiences with your own children, Michele, and putting into words what we would all like to say to our children and grandchildren. I highly recommend this book!

Book Reviews – Playdate In Outer Space

We love how Playdate In Outer Space incorporates friends taking a mission of discovery, creativity, and play. The story encourages a child to gather basic supplies to build and explore with their imagination. It allows the parent and child to open up further conversations about planets, mountains, games, and the importance of being responsible with our furry friends. Making time for play and fun allows kids to be open to new ideas, as well as making friends from different places. The illustrations are colorful and engaging on every page and let the parent and child talk openly about what might come next. It was a fun read!!

This book is full of color and imagination! It totally reminds me of when I was a kid. I love that it intertwined rhyming, speech bubbles, and other common elements that kids can learn.
